See the ZIPs in New Jersey with the lowest percent unemployed below, and the highest percent unemployed ZIPs. Only ZIP codes with a low margin of error are included.
With recent economic booms and busts, unemployment is one of the most often read about statistics. Some parts of the country have recovered much more than others. The unemployment rate is measured among people aged 16+ that are in the civilian labor force. To be considered unemployed, someone has to be actively looking for work and not in the military.
The New Jersey percent unemployed from the latest estimates is 5.3% and has fallen 11.7% from 6.0%.
This year saw several big changes. 07014 (Clifton, NJ) rose from #2 to #1, 07847 (Kenvil, NJ) fell from #1 to #2, 07033 (Kenilworth, NJ) ranked for the first time, 08530 (Lambertville, NJ) rose from #6 to #4, and 07662 (Rochelle Park, NJ) ranked for the first time.
